About CEC Music

I am C. Eric Carlson, currently second trombonist of the Philadelphia Orchestra, former member of the Baltimore & North Carolina Symphonies, and former faculty member at Peabody Conservatory & Temple University.

I have been borrowing great music for trombone ever since I was in college, but it is only fairly recently that I have started publishing and selling the transcriptions.

All of the transcriptions I have done have been for my own use, for groups I have played in, & for friends and colleagues. I didn't start out with the idea of publishing them, but after repeated requests for copies of things, I started to get the message that I might be able to sell a few copies.

Thanks to Finale notation software & way too much time on my hands, I have been able to produce printed music that I believe is of as high or higher quality than most of what the big publishing houses produce.

The accompaniment CDs also started as something for my own use - I get bored practicing solo parts without the accompaniment, and my wife isn't always available to play for me on a moment's notice, so I took advantage of the midi capabilities of my computer and made myself some accompaniment tracks.

I burned a few CDs of my accompaniment tracks for friends, got many requests for more copies, and, as with the sheet music, I figured there might be a market for the things.

I have been pleasantly surprised by the number of sales that have been generated just by word of mouth, and this web site is an attempt to get the word out a little further, and to make it easier to purchase the music.

I am using Pay Pal to process all online payments. You may either sign up for an account with them, or simply use your credit card to pay without creating an account. You will get an e-mail confirmation of your order from Pay Pal, and I will send you an e-mail when your order is shipped. Your credit card statement will show a Pay Pal payment to CEC Music.

For United States orders I use U.S.P.S. media mail - it usually gets to anywhere in the country in about a week. If you need faster shipping than that, please send me an e-mail, and we can work out other shipping arrangements.

For overseas shipments, I use Global Priority mail. Depending on the country, delivery times will vary, but I have found this to be the most efficient and cost effective way to send things overseas. If you would like your music shipped some other way, please e-mail me, and we can work things out.
